Great list, I've been pondering what to read this year and will add these books to my list, thank you :)

Alice Audrey

Bad Science sounds like a good read. I'll add it to my wish list.

I'm not sure how many I read last year, but I'd say half were abandoned, so it can't be much.

Willa

Thanks for the head up about John Grisham's Innocent Man,I love reading his book,I just got my latest copy of The Confession, that reminds me,I need to read more and get online less.

Thanks for visiting my
Thursday 13.

I always love a booklist! I definitely need an eReader for my birthday in June because out apartment doesn't have room for my ever growing TBB/R pile!

Happy TT,

I read "The Curious Incident..." a year or two ago, and I agree with you. A WONDERFUL book. I adored it.

Journeywoman

I like Donald Westlake too.

Might I recommend Room by Emma Donahue? It was the best of my 154.

colleen

Good title, take on How to Lose Friends and Influence People. I wonder if you've read John Grisham's autobiography?

JTS

I loved your book reviews, there's a couple on here I will definitely check out. Great Thursday 13 idea!

Rasmenia

I can't think of a more flattering endorsement than to be included in one of your book lists!

This list just reminded me that I might be watching too many movies & reading too few books lately because I had no idea that 'A Simple Plan' & 'How to Lose Friends & Alienate People' were books.

I've had 'How to Lose Friends' on my to-watch list for quite some time just because of the fact that Simon Pegg is in it.

This also reminded me that it's been ages since I've done a Thursday 13.

Elaine

Glad you enjoyed Curious Incident. It's in my top ten of all time list. (Well, it would be if I had one!)

Brenda

I haven't read all of these. I'm going to look for No Time for Goodbye. Of the ones I've read, I liked Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night best.

Janet

I enjoy Bryson, too :-) Happy New Year, Nicholas!

Hazel

I'd be interested to read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time by Mark Haddon. Been acquainted with someone who has Asperger.... wonder how is he now.

samulli

I enjoyed "A simple plan" quite a lot as well. It was kind of hilarious how everything slowly spiralled out of control.
"The curious incident..." I read on recommendation of one of my best friends who has Asperger's himself. The kid in the book reminded me a lot of him, which is why I loved the story.
"Thunderbold Kid" was a bit disappointing for me. I love most of Bryson's older books, but this one dragged a bit for me. It was the same with "A short history of nearly everything" or whatever the name of that one was.

"Bad Science" sounds good. I might have to put that on my wishlist. I made a new year's resolution to read more science books this year anyway after I listened to some excellent lectures by Lawrence Krauss on YouTube and realized I have no clue about astrophysics and quantum mechanics. Isn't that embarrassing? LOL

Hi Niko! Happy New Year! Enjoyed your list but regret I've read very few. However, The Innocent Man was one of them. Felt the same as you about it. Interestingly, there have been 2 cases in the news recently of a similar siatuion.

Christine Ashworth

Ooh, a lovely list! Thanks...I'm printing it out. There are a couple I think my hubby would like.

Cheers!

Tracy

Loved A Simple Plan and An Innocent Man- Both great reads.
