I don't drink coffee, so I don't have to worry about these kinds of issues. My beverage of choice is English Tea (preferably Earl Grey). The only time I've had problems with ordering tea was in Japan, when I had to regularly explain that I wanted hot english tea with milk. Once I got iced english tea with milk, which did not please me at all.

here here about the sizes!! S, M, L -- when I use their words I never know what the h*ll I'm ordering!

And it was Starbucks on Princes Street in Edinburgh that was my first Starbucks experience... BTW -- mmmm... caramel creme Frappacino.... a week's calories in a beverage!

Well written to be sure. As someone who can tell the difference between a good bean and a bad bean, well brewed and poorly brewed, I applaud your comments. Starbucks is a fairly ridiculous outfit in many ways: its cup sizing (as you pointed out), its cookie-cutter "cool corporate" look, and its quality in general. The honest truth - and we all know this - is that they do not make the best tasting cup of coffee. It's simply too strong and bitter for my tastes, as well as those of many people. And a thumbs-up for plugging Corner Cup here in Gainesville - an odd and very nice little coffee cafe'.
