Just Wild About Harry! Booking Through Thursday -- join in here
1. Okay, love him or loathe him, you’d have to live under a rock not to know that J.K. Rowling’s final Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, comes out on Saturday… Are you going to read it?
2. If so, right away? Or just, you know, eventually, when you get around to it? Are you attending any of the midnight parties?
3. If you’re not going to read it, why not?
4. And, for the record… what do you think? Will Harry survive the series? What are you most looking forward to?
- Yes, we’ve got our copy reserved, to buy on Saturday, and I definitely will read it.
- My wife will read it first. She reads very fast so it will take her a day or two at most. Then I’ll read it. We will be going to the Books-A-Million round the corner from where we live, even though we’ll be buying a copy the next day from a small, independent book store. This will be the last HP book launch and it’s fun to be part of this extraordinary phenomenon – children staying up late and going to bookstores at midnight to buy a book. When has that ever happened before? Will it ever happen again?
- see above!
- I have no idea if he’ll survive, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.
.
Of course I'm going to read it! Can't wait!! I read the first just before the second came out and have been hooked like an 11 year old on candy.
I'm taking my oldest to a party. He's rather young for this sort of thing (only 7!) but there'll never be another book release like this one, I'm sure. And it'll be something he'll (hopefully) remember forever. Or at least until he starts reading the books himself :)
Will he survive? I don't know but I HATE spoilers so plan to spend the next few days with my hands firmly planted over my ears *LA LA LA LA LA*

You make a compelling argument for going to the midnight release party. :-) I think I'll drag my husband by there earlier in the evening if we decide not to go just to see some of the fesitivities. We did that last year while out for dinner, although we didn't get our copy of the book until the next morning.
Happy Reading!

1. Harry Fan here. Oh it is a definite yes fo rme. I am going to read it right away. I'll get it from ome of my bookclubs at discount price. I'll enjoy it just as much.
2.Not right away. I am patient.
3. I hope he doesn't. I think a good writer such as Rowling will leave unanswered questions just in case she wants to you know let us see the adult Harry and his children. The battle goes on against good and evil. :o)

I never gave Harry Potter a chance, and I don't think I'm going to do it this time. fiction books are just not my favorite in general, and especially the ones that involve little kids playing magic.
two (?) years ago I went to one of these midnight parties at Borders (?) and it was horrible. too many spoiled brats running around...
maybe I will read it for my kid, once I decide to have one. for now, no interest.
and btw, has Harry made out with the girl yet?
