Concerning the inclement weather that has swept across much of the USA in recent days, I cannot help feeling a bit smug. This satellite photo shows the sheer size of the storm, but you'll notice Florida, down in the bottom right, clear and unaffected. Pass me another tee-shirt, m'dear; I'm off for a stroll in the sunshine!

Like Tina in Houston, I, who live in DFW, can usually be smug about the weather...but least week, my pipes froze, and I had to endure rolling blackouts because the idiots who manage Texas utilities had the same problem. No, really, it's true.

I live in NYC and it rather has been unpredictable. 60 one day 40 later in the afternoon. Snowing the next...Oy!!
